Shield Certificates is a private, U.S.-based online safety training provider. We build safety certification courses for forklift, MEWP, lockout/tagout, HazCom, fall protection and six other topics, in English and Spanish, written against the OSHA, ANSI and CSA standards each topic depends on.
We cover the classroom (formal instruction) part of safety certification. Each course is a set of short chapters with real photos and diagrams, a final exam, and a certificate and phone wallet card the operator can show any employer. Every certificate has a unique number and QR code anyone can check at shieldcerts.com/verify.
For equipment courses such as forklift, MEWP and overhead crane, OSHA requires the employer to complete hands-on training and an evaluation on site. We supply a printable evaluation checklist and free record tools so the employer can do that and keep the record OSHA asks for. The result is logged on the operator’s record, so the certificate shows the evaluation date and evaluator.
Each course is written in plain language for the people doing the work, with the governing standards listed in a Compliance Standards box at the end of every chapter rather than scattered through the text. Exam questions are practical, on-the-job situations, not trivia about section numbers.
Course material cites the federal OSHA regulations and the consensus standards that apply (for example ANSI/ITSDF B56.1 for forklifts and ANSI/SAIA A92 for aerial lifts), plus CSA standards for Canadian users. Shield Certificates is not affiliated with or endorsed by OSHA; OSHA does not approve or license training providers, and we never claim it does.
On the first of every month we review the Federal Register, OSHA’s newsroom and letters of interpretation, the consensus-standards bodies, and the state OSHA programs our guides cover. Anything that changes a requirement, a standard edition or a penalty figure is posted the same week in our public OSHA rule changes log, and the affected courses and guides are updated.
Certificates already issued keep the standard editions that were in effect on their issue date; new certificates show the current editions.
If your employer won’t accept your Shield certificate, you get a full refund within 30 days of purchase. Exam retakes are unlimited and free.
